By joining Science for Bronx as a tutor, you not only receive the opportunity to foster valuable connections within our community, but you are also entitled to National Honor Society (NHS) credit. Per each tutoring session attended, you will receive one “tutoring” or “citizenship” credit — we will provide a letter of verification to the NHS upon request.

Our tutors meet at the Bronx Science Flagpole after 9th period every Monday and Thursday. Leaving at 3:05, we walk as a group around the Jerome Park Reservoir to the New School for Leadership and the Arts (NSLA). Using a prep-book based curriculum, our tutors help prepare students for the SHSAT from 3:30 to 5:30. Attendance is not obligatory, but sincerely appreciated.

The location of the New School for Leadership and the Arts makes commuting home easy. Tutors will typically either walk as a group back to Bronx Science to catch the 6:00 bus, walk to the Bedford Park train stations to catch the (B), (D), or (4), or walk to the nearby (1) train station on 231st Street.
